Salads

A salad is a cold dish of various mixtures of raw or cooked vegetables, usually seasoned with oil, vinegar, or other dressing. In other words, salads are anything you want them to be. There are infinite combinations of ingredients to employ in their creation. Just go to the market, find a combination of fresh veggies in season and go from there.

Salads are a complete and separate adventure in food creativity; a truly stand-alone piece of the puzzle. In this country a salad I usually served at the beginning of a meal or alongside the main meal if desired. In Europe, salads are served after dinner as a cleansing finish before cheese or dessert.

Potpourri is the order of the day here. It would be impossible to list all of the varieties of salads from all over the world. Here I can only present my own creations. Enjoy mine and have lots of fun with your own imaginative versions of this dish!
